Beautiful and Rare model 425-1 PRO FULL TRIPLE F/Bb/High F Alto (non compensating) French horn by European manufacturer Josef Lidl for the Besson Musical Instrument Brand. Redbrass with clear lacquer Features include hollow valve which are light with fast response. The thumb valve is * reversible between f and Bb horns. It can be configured with either F or Bb as dominant. High f side has a remarkable tonal quality and excellent intonation. Lightly used with NO DENTS! 100% original lacquer with only very light wear from normal playing inside bell where right hand is positioned. This full non-compensating Triple French Horn in an excellent example of fine European heritage and craftsmanship. Josef Lidl founded in 1892 specializes in French horn, natural horn, tubas and other rotary valve brass instruments. This model was designed and manufactured in a very limited production for Besson between 1993 and 1996. It had a MSRP of $6985.00 in 1994. New Full Triple Horns of various brands are running an average of between $8000 - $14,000 with similar features. This instrument is a steal for a serious player. High f side has a remarkable tonal quality and excellent intonation. It is set to the traditional F/Bb configuration, but I will configure to Bb/F on request before shipping. Played once by Glenn Janson of Philadelphia Orchestra and Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, when it first arrived in my shop.
